Ignite magazine, Canada’s highly respected meeting planning magazine, is seeking real life stories from event planners describing in 75 words or less how they became a professional corporate meeting planner, corporate travel manager or incentive programs guru. Meeting planners are invited to enter online with their story through June 30, 2010 and will automatically be entered to win prizes from seven Canadian destinations with Marriott Hotels and Resorts.

“Many meeting and corporate travel planners fell into their jobs through a series of fortunate, unplanned events,” says Debbie van der Beek, co-publisher of the meetings magazine. We want to hear their stories and so do our Ignite readers.” There’s many a meeting event planner who never originally set out for a career in event management, but who has grown into a seasoned professional through hands-on experience, education and long hours of work. Ignite Magazine wants to share all the stories behind these passionate and dedicated professionals, to inspire colleagues and up-and-comers.

Marriott Hotels and Resorts has partnered with the meeting planning magazine to offer fabulous rewards across Canada to qualified planners, including a two-night stay with tasting menu or dinner with the Chef for two at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre, a two-night weekend getaway at the Ottawa Marriott; a two-night stay with dinner at the Montreal Airport Marriott; or a two-night weekend getaway with show tickets and dinner at the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort; a one-night stay with second-level field view suite during a Blue Jays game; or two-night getaway at The Rosseau, a JW Marriott, with a $ 200 spa credit and daily breakfast.

Additionally, on each coast, there’s a two-night weekend stay offered at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront or two-night stays at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown, including dinner and a City Attractions Passport.
