The International Game Fish Association (IGFA), Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum Selects World Renowned Wood Sculptor David Wirth as ‘Featured Artist’ for 2006

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA), Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum in Dania Beach, Florida has selected world renowned wood sculptor David Wirth as the “Featured Artist” for 2006. Awards ceremony to be held January 27, 2006. Featured at the auction is his original Blue Marlin made of white ash and stands 53â tall.
He is the first sculptor to be honored with this award. David’s sculptures can be found on display at the IGFA World Fishing Center and in several galleries coast to coast.
Currently David Wirth can be seen hosting High Definition television on The Outdoor Channel’s, “Wildlife Art Gallery”. On Outdoor Channel 2HD, David goes behind the scenes of the lives of the nations best wildlife artists all captured in stunning High Definition for the new Outdoor Channel 2HD. David typically works alone on three to six pieces at a time in his studio in Temecula, CA where he does commissioned sculptures of life-like game fish and other marine life. Each sculpture takes one to six months to complete.
Selected by a jury comprised of experienced sculptors representing different styles and mediums, David’s art was also featured at “Sculptures in the Park” in Loveland, Colorado, in August of 2005 where is was in very good company.
David also supports Make-A-Wish Foundation in Florida and California, IGFA’s Jr. Angler and conservation programs, Friends of Rollo and many other local “Take a Kid Fishing programs.”
