KUA Launches Residential, Commercial Security Services; Signs First Customer

KISSIMMEE, FL (PRWEB) October 7, 2004

Consumers in Central Florida have a new option in security today as Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) officially launches residential and commercial security monitoring services. Kissimmee resident David Aviles visited KUA on Tuesday and signed on as the utility’s first residential customer.

The security service brings together the trusted names of KUA, Marlin Central Monitoring (License #EF20000365) and GE Security to deliver protection against intrusion, carbon monoxide and fire. With optional modules, the system can also be used to control appliances, lights and other electronic devices.

The security systems start at $ 180 (plus installation) with monthly monitoring at less than $ 20 per month. Add-on services include CareGuard™ which offers a way to monitor the well-being of senior citizens or other family members who have medical issues as well as KidSafe™ which alerts working parents if their children do not arrive home at a predetermined time to disarm the system.

Customers who install a residential intrusion system may be eligible for a discount of up to 20 percent off their annual homeownerÂ’s insurance premium.

“When it comes to helping you protect the things you value most, KUA is simply your best choice for security,” said Jef Gray, KUA’s vice president of information technology. “These new security products fit every need and, more importantly, every budget.”

The service offers 24-hour monitoring by certified operators in a UL-listed central monitoring center, based in Central Florida.

The new offering is part of KUA’s ongoing commitment to introduce products and services that enable customers to interact, transact and protect their families. KUA launched its Internet service provider, KUA.net, in 1998. In Feb. 2004, the utility added local and long distance telephone services.
