Point-Spreads.com Looks at the ALCS and NLCS and Find Out the World Series Predictions of Chester Hunter from BetRoyal.com

Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 10, 2006

Point-Spreads.com, the premier provider of sports data, information, and analysis to the betting community, sat down today with Chester Hunter, CEO of online betting site BetRoyal.com, to discuss the upcoming World Series as well as the American and National League Championship Series, underway tomorrow as Detroit takes on Oakland in game one of the ALCS.

On the heels of perhaps one of the greatest postseason upsets in history — the Detroit Tigers defeat of the Yankees in four games of the ALDS, we were eager for Hunter’s take on the Tigers’ chances of winning the AL Championship Series against an Oakland team which made surprisingly quick work of Minnesota.

“This is going to be a very close matchup in the ALCS so you really can’t look at too many factors when analyzing this game,” Hunter began. “However I have to admit that I think the Tigers as a dog is the way to go here. There are a number of areas where I feel Detroit is edging out Oakland, if only slightly, including their bullpen.”

“Detroit won 5 out of 9 meetings with the A’s this regular season and split their six visits to Oakland. Combine a very strong Detroit bullpen with the type of pitching we saw against the Yankees, and Oakland will fall,” Hunter continued. “However these teams are very evenly matched as you can see by the series prices we have available at BetRoyal.com, where the Tigers and the A’s are both -115 for the series price. Oakland won’t fall easy. I’d say Detroit takes the ALCS in 7 games, but tomorrow’s game could go in Oakland’s favor as Detroit gets their game together,” Hunter added.

In the National League Championship Series, the Mets will be looking for a repeat of their 2000 NLCS victory over the Cards. The Mets have survived their repeat injury problems and flexed their muscle against the Dodgers in a 3-0 sweep of the NLDS. The Cards, needing an additional game to get past the Padres, were the last to advance. Hunter believes this is another matchup extremely difficult to call but says he finds a great deal of value in the series price, which currently favors the Mets at -185 vs an underdog Cardinals at +155.

“Although it would be very easy to call the Mets here, you always have to look for value. This time around we are looking at two very strong teams who both have a good chance of winning this series. All things being equal — as in equal money — I’d possibly be laying my money on the Mets. But with a +155 gift being given on the Cards… well, I consider that value,” Hunter advised. “I believe the Cardinals have a good chance of taking this series in 6 or 7 games. Pujols and Carpenter have the ability to get the job done and carry the Cards to a series win. The Cards have a young bullpen, and the Mets one of the toughest, but Pujols is one of the best hitters in the league and Carpenter has proven to be one of the best pitchers. The Mets have several advantages but ultimately I have to put my money with a strong pitcher, and that’s Carpenter. And with +155 series price on the Cards, I’d call that a ticket with some pretty favorable odds,” Hunter concluded.

“We would like to thank Mr. Chester Hunter of BetRoyal.com for his time,” Thomas Jensen, Point-Spreads.com CEO added in conclusion. “As always, we remind the betting public that an educated bettor is a winning bettor.
