2008 MLB All-Star Game – Hall of Fame Shortstop – Cal Ripken Jr greets Derek Jeter

Cal Ripken Jr gives a special welcome to Derek Jeter. We attended the 2008 MLB All-Star Game in Yankee Stadium in New York. 49 of the 64 living Hall of Fame Baseball Players were introduced in a very special ceremony by their positions. These are the Shortstops. Ernie Banks, Robin Yount, Ozzie Smith, Luiz Aparicio. Hanley Ramirez of the Florida Marlins represented the National League.

Barry Bonds didn’t tie the record this weekend against the Florida Marlins. Despite the reaction of the fans at AT&T Park, the Marlins did pitch to him on Sunday and did a good job. This at bat resulted in a broken bat fly ball to deep right field (check out the bat stub in Barry’s hands).
