Video About Goodwill Wins Global Competition
Rockville, MD (Vocus) November 12, 2010
The League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) awarded Goodwill Industries International a platinum award, the highest award in the organizational video category for the 2010 Spotlight Awards. The video âGoodwill®: Building Job Opportunities, Stronger Families and Vibrant Communitiesâ showcases Goodwillâs mission of helping people find jobs, be independent and strengthen their communities. See the video on our YouTube channel.
The project chronicles how Goodwill helps people find employment, which in turn allows them to better care for their families and contribute to their communities. The League received more than 1,100 entries from more than a dozen countries, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes. The video was also named #64 on LACPâs top 100 list of Communications Materials of 2010. Goodwill Industries Internationalâs Communications and Public Affairs team produced the video with a group of freelance crewmembers.
âThe video features Wendy Wallo, Anthony Cornell and Christie Jarrell, just three of the nearly two million people that benefited from Goodwill services last year,â said Jim Gibbons, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries International. âThis video shows how Goodwill agencies are good stewards of the publicâs donations; helping people in local communities find employment.â
Judges for the 2010 Spotlight Awards were communications professionals from diverse sectors, including Fortune 500 companies, the manufacturing and services industries, and nonprofit organizations.
âThis yearâs entry, âGoodwill: Building Job Opportunities, Stronger Families and Vibrant Communities,â proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition,â said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director. âOur belief is that the target audience will find the level of relevance to be superb, demonstrating the success of this project in connecting with the right people and delivering a highly applicable and persuasive message.â
Special thanks to the Goodwill Industries serving Central Virginia and Hampton Roads, Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina and the Goodwill of Greater Washington for their contributions to this video project.
