Detroit Tigers vs New York Yankees – Free MLB Pick of the Day

The Detroit Tigers enter the American League Divisional Series playoffs against the odds favorite NY Yankees. With Justin Verlander and CC Sabathia taking the mound tonight, I feel that the ‘under’ is the best play for bettors. After meeting on opening day of the just concluded regular season, CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander lock horns again as the Yanks and Tigers begin their best-of-five American League Division series at Yankee Stadium. Game time is 8-37 PM ET with a 50 percent chance of rain in the forecast and temperatures in the 50’s. MLB odds boards opened Sabathia as the -128 favorite with the total at 7. It appears that early baseball betting action has had little effect on the line as it remains stable for the most part. Both teams won their respective divisions with relative ease. While the Yankees (97-65) coasted to the finish line and won the AL East by six games, Detroit (95-67) blew away the competition going 30-9 in their final 39 games and winning the AL Central by 15 games. A big reason for their strong finish was Justin Verlander (24-5, 2.40 ERA) who won 12 straight starts before getting a no-decision in his last outing of the season. The last time these two teams met in the playoffs was in 2006. Verlander was just a rookie but now he’s arguably the best pitcher in the game.
