2011 Chicago Auto Show Kicks Off

The largest auto show in North America, The Chicago Auto Show, opened its doors Friday to kick off the 103rd show. The event began Friday night with the annual First Look for Charity, and will end on Sunday February 20.

The show will feature vehicles from all major car manufacturers in many different makes and models. Vehicles on display will include production vehicles, production debuts, concept vehicles, crossovers, diesel vehicles , electric, economy and hybrid cars.

Bands, activities and celebrity appearances will highlight this year’s show. Athletic superstars Johnny Knox, of the Chicago Bears, Carlos Boozer of the Chicago Bulls, former White Sox slugger Frank Thomas and former Chicago Blackhawk Bobby Hull will be in attendance.

Tickets for this year’s show will be $ 11 for adults, $ 7 for senior citizens, children ages seven to 12 $ 7 and children under seven are free. Participating BP gas stations offer a half-off weekday ticket promotion when you fill up you vehicle’s tank at a participation BP.

Last year Ford and GM battled it out for the most Best of Show Winners and this year with both of them having solid line-ups.
