The Peppermill Resort Casino, Reno presents the 2011 Poker Throw Down hosted by poker pro Jennifer Harman benefiting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Nevada SPCA) sponsored by Konami and IGT. The charity poker tournament benefiting the no-kill sanctuary will feature an action-packed individual and ten-player team competition, vying more than 100 poker pros, Hollywood celebrities, athletes, and industry VIPs against each other as they captain dozens of ten-player teams representing casinos, card rooms, leagues, sports clubs, and brands across the country. This highly anticipated event takes place during the Nevada State Poker Championship included in Heartland Poker Tourâs (HPT) Season VII tour. This exciting weekend of events kicks off on Friday, May 20th at 10PM, when dozens of the above named celebrities will take part in live-action play inside Peppermillâs brand new luxurious three million 19-table poker room. All poker players and fans are welcome.
On Saturday, May 21st, starting at 10AM, Nevada SPCA companion animals will escort celebrity captains and their teams along the red carpet hosted by poker media darlings Melissa Castello and Eddy Sabat. As GreasieWheels official team photography continues, Pacific Auction Company will open its largest ever silent auction at noon. Nevada Representative Lupe Soto will speak on behalf of the PPA and the Nevada SPCA will present. And then, itâs âshuffle up and dealâ at 1PM. A live auction featuring an autographed guitar donated by legendary singer Sir Elton John and a custom designed 916PokerDepot.com poker table autographed by pros and celebrities will start at 3PM. Celebrations continue at 8PM with the third annual Poker Throw Down party at Peppermillâs poolside Terrace Lounge featuring live entertainment and a hosted bar.
