It’s simply geography. Besides, the Brewers were never supposed to be in the NL Central. The Royals were offered the move to the NL Central first after their World Series victory in order to stir up a rivalry with the Cardinals. However, they rejected it (big mistake), and the Brewers instead got the offer and jumped all over it.
