Montclair College Prep School Celebrates 50 Years of Academic Success

Calling all former students, families, coaches and teachers! Come celebrate Montclair College Preparatory School’s 50th Anniversary on Saturday, November 4 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, California. Beginning at 6:30PM the evening will include cocktails, dinner, dancing and a very special tribute to the school’s founder and Executive Director Dr. Vernon E. Simpson.
Delivering excellence in education for half a century, Montclair College Prep was created with the goal of providing educational excellence to all who seek a better future for themselves and their communities.
In addition to giving students a solid foundation for entering the world of higher education, Montclair has also played an important role in the lives of some of the biggest names in entertainment. Former students who went on to become famous include Cher, Michael Jackson, Eve Plumb, Nicole Ritchie, Stephen Dorff and directors Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential) and Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights).
Montclair’s athletics department also has its fair share of famous alumni. Russ Ortiz is now a major league baseball pitcher who has played for the Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves. Brad Fullmer was a member of the World Series champion Anaheim Angels and has played for the Texas Rangers. Other alumni include NFL player Toi Cook and Torey Lovullo formerly of the Detroit Tigers.
