San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2008

The Mark has won strong market acceptance in downtown San Diego with 45 percent of the 244 residences either sold or in escrow as of the beginning of March.

To date, 107 have closed escrow and another three are on contract since the high-rise condominium building was completed and first homeowners moved in last May.

According to The Mark’s Sales Manager Rosemary Snow, those purchasing the homes cited the building’s quality design and construction, a rich array of residential and common amenities and its prime location on a full-block site in East Village, downtown San Diego’s largest urban neighborhood.

A San Diego Luxury condo development of the Douglas Wilson Companies, The Mark’s urban residences include 233 in a 33-story glass and metal tower, 11 red brick-and-stucco townhomes on the perimeter and four condominiums over commercial-retail shops and office spaces.

The full-block development is located between Island Avenue and Market Street, two blocks north of PETCO Park, the home of the National League’s San Diego Padres baseball club.

“We’re very gratified by the enormous response we’ve had from the growing numbers of people from all over who are interested in urban condo living in downtown San Diego,” The Mark’s Sales Manager, Rosemary Snow said. “Many of our buyers reserved their residences as early as three years ago, long before construction began. They could see the inherent value in our location and the exciting urban design features we were incorporating into the development. To say the least, they and our more recent buyers have not been disappointed.”

A wide variety of floor plans are available in one-, two, and three-bedroom designs, ranging from 739 to 2,430 square feet. Common area features include parking for 427 automobiles on three subterranean levels, 13 for motorcycles and 53 for bicycles; 24/7lobby attendants; a concierge, and an onsite general manager. Rounding out the resort-like amenities are a swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool and grass area, barbecues and tables; fitness center and floor exercise area; a conference room available for meetings, and a private interior street, The Mark Lane, which provides a convenient drop off at the lobby entry.

The residences, many of which feature sweeping views of PETCO Park, downtown San Diego and San Diego Bay, include Studio Becker European-style cabinetry, GE stainless steel appliances and gas cooktops; upgraded GE Monogram appliances in specific residences on the 20th floor and up; nine-foot ceilings in units on floors 2-19, 10-foot ceilings for those on the higher floors. Kitchens have granite slab countertops. Bathrooms feature limestone surrounds for showers and tubs and Toto bathroom fixtures.

Prices currently range from $ 444,000 to $ 3.86 million, not including the two-story penthouse on the 32nd and 33rd floors. All are available for immediate occupancy.

The Mark is located at The Mark Lane, between Eighth and Ninth avenues, and Island Avenue and Market Street. The sales studio, off the Ninth Avenue entrance, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
