Kentucky Colonels Seek Prospect Basketball Players For Aba Team…. An Oppor-tunity For Hoop Dreams To Come True

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) May 8, 2004 –

–This historical league brought many basketball stars to the fore-front like Dr. J and the George “Iceman” Gervin, current Detroit Motown Jammers owner within the league. The ABA league currently has 26 teams throughout North America and seems to be expanding at a rapid pace. The expansion team roster has ventured out to cities like Detroit, Cincinnati, and Nashville.

Kentucky Colonels will hold its first two initial free agent tryout camps for players to showcase their basketball skills. Each camp will have team representatives as well as scouts and coaches in attendance. This event will also give local spectators the opportunity to be a part of the building process of the Kentucky Colonels.

Henry Bacon (the new Head Coach of the Kentucky Colonels) a Louisville native has a history of Kentucky basketball that spans three decades. Bacon was selected as a High School All-American and recruited by over 200 schools and universities. Before selecting the University of Louisville and making a Final Four appearance in 1972 under Coach Denny Crum. He was drafted by both the NBA and the ABA and signed with the ABA’s San Diego Conquistadors.

Coach Bacon stated, “While we’re looking for the best area players, the camps are open to the public. This is the opportunity for ball players to walk-in for a chance to fulfill their hoop dreams.
