Nationals send Coffey to DL with calf injury
The Washington Nationals have placed right-handed reliever Todd Coffey on the 15-day disabled list with a left calf strain and recalled right-hander Collin Balester from Triple-A Syracuse. Coffey is 1-0 with a 6.23 ERA in five appearances this season. The move before Sunday’s game against Milwaukee is retroactive to April 9.
