Baseball Fans Get Last Chance to See MLB All Star Game at Yankee Stadium
New Jersey (PRWEB) July 3, 2008
MLB All Star game tickets and All Star Fan Fest tickets are on sale now at SelectATicket.com. This baseball season marks one of the most extravagant, event filled All-Star Games of all time. The game is on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the historic Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.
This game will be the fourth and final time that Yankee Stadium hosts the All Star game. Next year the Yankees will play at a new stadium being built adjacent to the current one.
“Major League Baseball is seeing to it that Yankee Stadium goes out in style. Growing up as a Yankees fan, this is great to see. From the All Star Game, Fan Fest, Home Run Derby and even a free Bon Jovi concert in Central Park, they are giving Yankee Stadium the sendoff it deserves. There literally is something for everyone,” said Mark Gibbons, who manages internet sales at SelectATicket.com.
Along with the game is the popular MLB Fan Fest at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center which runs from Friday July 11 to Tuesday July 15. All Star Sunday includes the Futures Game and the Celebrity Softball Game. The Futures Games showcases top minor league prospects competing in a United States vs. the world exhibition game. Another hit is the Celebrity Softball Game when entertainers and former athletes play ball.
Then on Monday some of the best sluggers from the National League and American League will compete to see who can get the most home runs. The Home Run Derby is a chance to watch top hitters take their best shots at hitting a home run.
“Fan Fest is looked forward to by fans of all ages. Die hard fans love The Prospects Game, the Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday is always entertaining and who doesn’t love to watch the game’s top sluggers in the Home Run Derby? It all leads up to the main event – the MLB All Star Game,” says Gibbons.
As part of Fan Fest a Red Carpet event will honor major league baseball legends and another legend in another genre will perform – the rock group Bon Jovi. The group will give a free concert on July 12 at 8 p.m. on the Great Lawn in NY’s Central Park.
Fans who aren’t lucky enough to make it to the All Star Game events still have a chance to get Yankee baseball tickets and see games in the legendary Yankee Stadium before it closes down for good. Gibbons notes that fans can find tickets online at SelectATicket.com and find great deals on New York Yankee tickets for several remaining home games through the end of the season.
