Question by pens90: are the pittsburgh pirates ever going to have a winning season again?
it’s been 15 straight seasons that they’ve had a loosing record. what the F***IN shit is going on! i think baseball needs to change and give low payroll teams a chance. this is rediculous for pirates fans. we didn’t pay for this shit. baseball is screwed up. if i must, and i MUST, i’d say bud selig should put in some type of salary cap that is somewhat reasonable, the national hockey league for example has a great system going on. teams are always between the 30-50 million range in hockey. but for now, in baseball it looks like things will never change.

The problem isn’t the higher payroll teams, it’s that the Pirates have the money, they just don’t want to spend it. They would rather keep their billions, and cry poverty. Claiming that they can’t keep up with the Yankees, while putting in just enough money into the team to fool the fans into buying tickets and swag. So long as you run the team as a business, and not as a potential championship winner, you will never have a winning team.
