Question by The ~Muffin~ Man: Would the Montreal Expos have won the 1994 World Series?
If the strike didn’t wipe out the 1994 season, do you think the Montreal Expos would have won the World Series? They were 74-40 and 6 games ahead of the Braves – and pulling away from them in mid August when it all ended.
They had a stellar pitching staff, they were mashing the baseball on offense and they had momentum. And they were road warriors (42-20) – always a sign of a champion.
One thing people forget about that Expos team is that they weren’t a “flash in the pan”. They won 94 games in 1993 and *nearly* caught the Phillies down the stretch in what would have been a huge collapse for the Phillies.
