Could NFL shutdown look like baseball and hockey?
Anyone looking for historical precedent for a possible National Football League lockout might learn more from baseball and hockey than from the NFL’s most recent work stoppage in 1987. That occurred when the players’ 24-day strike canceled the third week of games, then prompted the owners’ use of replacement players for weeks four through six.
