DC’s Best Sports Bar Penn Quarter Sports Tavern Welcomes Seattle Seahawks Fans on Sundays

Washington, DC (Vocus) September 1, 2010

The Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, a sports haven for NFL and college football fans in Washington DC, has announced it is reserving tables for Seattle Seahawks fans to watch their favorite team in the nation’s capitol every Sunday this year.

The Seahawks are just the latest fan group to join the popular Washington DC sports bar next to the Navy Archives metro in Penn Quarter. With 19 different 60-inch high-definition flat-screen televisions strategically located throughout the two-story bar, there’s always a great view for the big game, which was one of the reasons it was named Washington DC’s Best Sports Bar by the Washington Post Express last year.

The vast quantity of televisions means that owner Mike Brand, a diehard Chicago Bears fan, can reserve seats for certain teams. In addition to the Seahawks, Penn Quarter Sports Tavern is considered a Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens and, of course, a Washington Redskins bar.

“We designed Penn Quarter Sports Tavern to be the perfect place to watch the game no matter where you are in the bar” said Brand, who regularly watches games with the patrons. “We are thrilled so many teams have made Penn Quarter Sports Tavern their weekly place to watch the game, and welcome others to come too.”

The Seahawks are just the latest group to make the list. What started out as a sibling outing has turned into a full-blown party with as many as 30 Seattle Seahawks fans showing up for the game.

Gavin Taylor, who spent six years in Seattle, was the original Hawks fan who showed up to watch the game at Penn Quarter. It was there he met Brand, who said if he brings them, Brand will ensure there’s a place to watch.

“Penn Quarter Sports Tavern is just an awesome venue. By far the best sports bar in Washington DC. Great food, great drinks and even better TV’s to watch whatever game you want” Taylor said. “I highly recommend all fans, whether it’s of a college or pro team, make Penn Quarter Sports Tavern the place to watch the game.”

Taylor has since started his own Seattle Seahawks DC sports bar page promoting the Sunday viewing party.
