Gone are the days when their manager would ponder the possibility of starting games with their bullpen and finishing them with a starter. Jay’s starter Scott Kazmir has put up solid numbers on the season. Through 11 starts the lefthander sits with an ERA at 2.28 and opposing teams bat .192 against him. Heading into the season Kazmir is sitting with an ERA under 3 in 15 starts against Boston. This is Dice K’s third start since coming off the DL for an ailing shoulder and has pitched only 6 innings in 2 starts back. The Rays should get into the Red Sox bullpen in this one. Behind Kazmir, their potent offense and their solid 31-13 home record through 44 games play Tampa Bay at –115.
