ÂÂ Roman Oben, member of the 2002 World Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington DC native, returns to his hometown to host a football camp for DC youth at Gonzaga College High School on Saturday, June 12, 2004. Open to youth ages 8 thru 17, the non contact program will feature coaches from area high schools and colleges along with current and former NFL players such as Ray Buchanan (Raiders), Laveranues Coles (Redskins), Eddie George (Titans), Darnerien McCants (Redskins), Chris Simms (Buccaneers), Shawn Springs (Redskins), Troy Vincent (Eagles) and Jamel White (Buccaneers).
The Roman Oben Football Camp will emphasize fundamentals, form and technique, while providing instructional workshops on fitness, nutrition, self discipline, academics and SAT preparation. Participants will work on both offense and defense, while receiving one-on-one instruction in areas such as passing, receiving, running, blocking and tackling.
Presented by the Roman Oben Foundation, an organization which helps promote the positive development of youth through football, literacy and alternative community outreach programs, the Roman Oben Football Camp is free with pre-registration. Lunch will be provided and campers will receive special gifts from Roman Oben.
