The Toronto Airport Marriott, together with the SickKids Foundation, are thrilled to host the 8th annual Childrenâs Miracle Network fundraising gala on Thursday, November 19, 2009. All proceeds raised will go to support the SickKids Foundation. âWe are proud to host this annual gala to support the SickKids Foundation,â says Jeff Waters, General Manager at the Toronto Airport Marriott. âThe SickKids Foundation works miracles in improving childhood health and wellbeing and weâre excited to support such a worthwhile cause.â
This yearâs event, âAn Enchanted Eveningâ, will feature performances from one of Canadaâs greatest musical talents, Michael Burgess. Well-known for his roles in Broadway favourites, Burgess will perform hits from memorable shows including Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Burgess will also perform with Madison Scott, an 11-year-old SickKids ambassador and brave cancer survivor. Popular Canadian sports announcer, Rod Black, will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.
Guests will enjoy sumptuous food stations featuring Spanish tapas, live carving stations, a wide variety of seafood, curries, fresh salads, fine cheeses and decadent desserts. The gala will also feature a silent auction with popular items including: sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia, golf, hotel stays, house and home items, wine and gift baskets, and restaurant gift certificates. A highlight of the evening is the exciting live auction, featuring unique travel and culinary experiences and a Sky Box for a 2010 Blue Jays game, including food and beverage for up to 20 people â valued at over $ 2,500.
