In 1982, using only a 14-foot truck he had purchased for nine hundred dollars and his six hundred square foot home garage, Donald Fix founded Don Farr Moving and Storage. In the years since its humble beginning in Don’s Baldwin-Whitehall home, Don Farr has grown to become the city of Pittsburgh’s preferred moving and storage company, boasting a fleet of over 100 vehicles and a secure, climate-controlled, 125,000 square-foot storage facility. As the company prepares to celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2007, while much has changed at Don Farr, the company has remained true to its hometown roots.
Today, two of Don’s sons run the family business and have helped it grow to become the official mover of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the preferred mover of both the Pirates, and your own Pittsburgh Steelers. Don Farr now employs more than two hundred hardworking individuals that are dedicated to making sure your residential or commercial moving experience is as smooth and efficient as possible, whether you are moving in town or across the country.
