KiDS ScoreCard LLC, a Pittsburgh-based sports promotional product company, today announced the re-launch of the company after fortifying its intellectual properties and refining its printing processes the past two years. Additionally, the company opened the doors to its new offices in Atlanta and hired Kurt Hunzeker as its Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. Hunzeker will oversee all sales and marketing efforts from Atlanta.

After the initial promotion with Major League BaseballÂ’s Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002, KiDS ScoreCard Founder Richard Vickroy began to secure the productsÂ’ patents and planned to revamp the kids-targeted company.

“KiDS ScoreCard’s mission is to provide children of all ages a low-tech, fun and educational experience, while increasing their understanding and affinity for sports and creating an awareness of the athletes involved,” explained Mr. Vickroy. “The ultimate dream would be to have our product considered as a staple offering at every venue, at all levels…right alongside the traditional scorecards and other publications.”

Mr. Hunzeker’s first order of business was re-branding KiDS ScoreCard to better reflect its end-user consumer. Bold, primary colors dominate the new logo, and the company’s signature sticker is depicted in the dotted “I.” Through targeted prospecting, Mr. Hunzeker secured a number of sports leagues and franchises to include KiDS ScoreCard in their sponsorship inventories for 2005.

“To hasten sales opportunities, management thought it was best to hire an insider to the sports marketing business,” stated Mr. Vickroy. “Mr. Hunzeker’s résumé was clearly several notches above all others from multiple perspectives: as an account manager, he was able to answer client needs with ideal, business-sound solutions – the very same promotions and ideas that he had once presented to sports properties and their potential sponsors as a journalist; and as a graphic designer, he could transfer these creative ideas into new and enhanced product designs.”

Mr. Hunzeker joins KiDS ScoreCard from Relay Sponsorship and Event Marketing, where he served as an Account Supervisor for various clients, including the NBA, Nike, Cingular Wireless and LadiesÂ’ Home JournalÂ’s Minor League Baseball account, focusing on creative development, new business presentations and sponsorship negotiations. Prior to joining Relay, Mr. Hunzeker founded his own sports advertising company and served as Editor and Director of Business Development and Marketing for a sports marketing publication, Team Marketing Report. Mr. Hunzeker is a graduate of the University of Missouri-ColumbiaÂ’s School of Journalism.
